Stop Think Do! Group Program for 4 – 6 years olds
People won’t have time for you if you are always angry or complaining.
Stop. Think. Do. is a social skills group designed to empower children by teaching them to develop self-control, decision making, responsibility, leadership and friendship-making skills. The program aims to improve children’s social skills and friendship abilities, develop cooperative classrooms, schools and homes, and support children to develop strong emotional intelligence and self-esteem.
Dependent children are often stuck at the ‘STOP’ step, as they tend not to think or do much for themselves. Shy, anxious children are stuck at the ‘THINK’ step, as they often think too much about what could happen. Impulsive, aggressive children are stuck at the ‘DO’ step, because they rarely stop to think about consequences or the impact of their actions. The program aims to help children move through all the steps, with positive feedback and support from adults and peers incorporated.
It is led by our fully qualified and experienced Program Facilitator, Registered Psychologist Lucy Tchepak.
This manualised program is suitable for children with regulation, anger, confidence and/or social communication difficulties, including children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and Anxiety Disorder.
Program is designed for children with difficulties in the following areas:
- awareness of space eg. personal space
