“Talent wins games, but teamwork and intelligence win championships.” — Michael Jordan
Our fortnightly Commando Group is organised and run by our fully qualified and experienced Occupational Therapist Nick Janicaud. The Commando Group activities are highly enjoyable, using a range of Commando Fitness & Teamwork Group fitness and suspended equipment, and is led by Ross Barbour, an ex British Royal Marine Commando. http://www.realcommandotraining.com.au/about-us/
This non-manualised and tailor-made program is suitable for young men with fitness, sensory, confidence and/or teamwork including young men diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and Anxiety Disorder.
Program is designed for young men who would like to develop the following:
- Physical fitness
- Cardiac health
- Muscle strength
- Team work skills
- Communication skills
- Self and Social Confidence
- Body awareness
- Emotional and behavioural regulation
- Following directions and instructions
- Identifying and managing emotions in self and team
The youth are grouped according to their needs, ability levels, interests and temperament. We believe that all participants are able learn from their peers and also have something to offer to others. This is taken into consideration when grouping participants as well.
Our Commando Group Program Aims to help your child develop skills and abilities in order to assist with their transition into young men.
The Commando Group Program runs fortnightly on a Tuesday during the school term, from 4pm to 5pm, at The Real Commando training centre: 2/206 Box Road, Miranda, right next to Hungry Jacks.
